Neuron e-scooters arrive in Newcastle

Neuron’s e-scooters have arrived in Newcastle with an initial 250-strong fleet.

The trial, which is being operated in partnership with Newcastle City Council, will provide a safe, sustainable and socially distanced way to travel around the city.

Riders in Newcastle will benefit from Neuron’s latest N3 e-scooters which have been purpose-built for safety and renting. They will launch with a range of features including the app-controlled helmet lock, geofencing control, a 999 emergency button, voice guidance, topple detection and a “Follow my Ride” function.

Riders who are over 18 and hold a full or provisional driving licence are able to book and use the e-scooters through Neuron’s app, with trips costing £1 to unlock the e-scooter and 18p per minute.

Frequent users can also purchase Neuron Passes, available in three-day (£15), weekly (£22), or monthly (£36) options. With this option, users can ride as many times as they want for up to 90 minutes per day.

Free passes are also available for NHS and emergency service workers throughout the lockdown, redeemable through the app, as well as free rides for all commuters during the first three months of the trial between 5am-9am every weekday.
