Our aim is to provide \u2018equipment and expertise to\u00a0 venture further\u2019 to the Cycle, Outdoor, Work at Height and Rescue industries.\u00a0\r\n\r\nIn the cycle industry we are best known as the U.K. and Ireland distributor for Ortlieb luggage, Salsa bicycles,\u00a0 Bombtrack bicycles, Teravail tyres, Arundel accessories, Hydrapak hydration, Tubus racks and Julbo eyewear.\u00a0 However, our extensive portfolio also includes quality outdoor accessory brands making us a one stop shop for\u00a0 adventure cycling.\u00a0\r\n\r\nWhilst we stock products that cater for every cyclist from commuters to enduro racers, our primary focus is the\u00a0 more adventurous side of cycling, allowing riders to broaden their horizons on two wheels in keeping with our\u00a0 Venture Further strapline.\u00a0\r\n\r\nThe role:\u00a0\r\n\r\nDue to a change in structure we are seeking to appoint a Cycle Market Manager to develop and manage our\u00a0 cycle business.\u00a0\r\n\r\nWe are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic, organised individual with proven people and process\u00a0 management experience to lead our dynamic cycle team. A strong passion for cycling and knowledge of our\u00a0 products would be advantageous.\u00a0\r\n\r\nThe job is perfectly suited to someone from the cycle industry who is capable of developing our cycle sales and\u00a0 marketing strategy, motivating our sales team and managing sales performance, as well as carrying out day to day\u00a0 management functions.\u00a0\r\n\r\nAs a department manager at Lyon, the successful candidate will work closely with other departments including,\u00a0 Finance, Purchasing, Logistics and HR.\u00a0\r\n\r\nThe job will involve:\u00a0\r\n\r\n \t Being the central contact for the Lyon\u2019s Cycle division, both within Lyon and externally \u2022 Developing a rolling 5 year sales and marketing strategy for the sector and to communicate this with Lyon\u00a0 staff, suppliers and customers as appropriate\u00a0\r\n \t Working closely with all parts of the company to ensure the department\u2019s commercial goals are met, both in\u00a0 terms of growth and profi tability\u00a0\r\n \t Reporting on the division\u2019s growth and profi tability as well as barriers to sales at regular Management\u00a0 meetings and Director meetings where appropriate\u00a0\r\n \t Line managing the Cycle Team\u00a0\r\n \t Brand management of a selection of Lyon Cycle\u2019s portfolio, including Ortlieb\u00a0\r\n \t Participation at overseas supplier meetings where required\u00a0\r\n \t Working with suppliers to construct a sales and marketing strategy for each brand within the UK and Irish\u00a0 market\u00a0\r\n \t Providing specifi c market feedback to brands where appropriate\u00a0\r\n \t Guiding the Purchasing Department with ranging decisions, forecasts and price pointing \u2022 Coordinating product launches across sales and marketing channels\u00a0\r\n \t Overseeing marketing campaigns across print and digital platforms to ensure that products and services\u00a0 meet customers\u2019 expectations and to build the credibility of brands\u00a0\r\n \t Provision of training and support to Lyon staff and customers as appropriate\u00a0\r\n \t Managing sample requirements, allocations, trade show and show room displays\u00a0\r\n \t Managing the clearance of end of line product in a timely and profi t conscious manner \u2022 Remaining up to date with competitor products\u00a0\r\n \t Overseeing Aftersales support and to work with the Aftersales team to maintain a high level of consumer\u00a0 brand satisfaction\u00a0\r\n \t Meeting with key customers and supporting the Sales Admin team where appropriate \u2022 Overseeing the organisation of events such as house shows, trade shows and consumer shows \u2022 Attendance of shows and events where appropriate\u00a0\r\n \t Networking within the industry to remain aware of industry developments and to create awareness of Lyon\u00a0 Cycle\r\n\r\nThe person we seek will meet the following criteria:\u00a0\r\n\r\n \t Have a genuine passion for cycling and a good understanding of how our products fi t into the various\u00a0 market segments.\u00a0\r\n \t Be self-motivated, able to work autonomously and as part of a team\u00a0\r\n \t Have a proven track record of sales management within the cycle industry\u00a0\r\n \t Have a confi dent and outgoing manner with excellent interpersonal skills\u00a0\r\n \t Have excellent coaching skills and have the ability to observe, evaluate and give meaningful feedback \u2022 Have strategic planning abilities\u00a0\r\n \t Have excellent negotiation skills\u00a0\r\n \t Be able communicate information effi ciently and accurately to the right people, at the right time, using the\u00a0 right medium\u00a0\r\n \t Be able to demonstrate strong analytical skills\u00a0\r\n \t Be organised, articulate, numerate and computer literate\u00a0\r\n \t Be a confi dent user of social media, e.g. Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, in order to increase the reach of\u00a0 our brands and events\u00a0\r\n \t Hold a current full car driving licence (preferably clean) and a current passport\u00a0\r\n \t Have a successful history of managing teams\u00a0\u00a0\r\n \t Have the confi dence to work remotely\u00a0\u00a0\r\n\r\nThe successful candidate will be provided with the following:\u00a0\r\n\r\n \t A company vehicle\u00a0\u00a0\r\n \t Staff bicycle\u00a0\r\n\r\nHours of work:\u00a0\r\n\r\nThis is a full time position which on average equates to 37.5 hours a week. We would expect the majority of\u00a0 work to be carried out between Monday and Friday, however this position will require regular overnight stays\u00a0 and some weekend working.
